New Family Pictures - June 2008

Yesterday evening, my friend Rolland - who is an AMAZING photographer and who has taught me so much - did a little family shoot for us.  I was so happy with how they turned out... here are a few of our favorites!  THANKS ROLLAND - you are the best!

Fun Visitors, Plus Flopsy #3- June 2008

Thursday - Saturday we had a visit from Susan, Kylee, Collin and a special surprise visitor.  Braden has been praying for Flopsy in his prayers (even though, unbeknownst to him Flopsy 2 passed on a few months ago).  Well, Nana came through and surprised him w/ Flopsy #3.  Braden loved him and didn't even notice that this one was brown w/ small ears.  Anyway, it was a blast and we spent everyday at the pool.  Look how tan we are now!!

GET READY FOR SOME SERIOUS HOTNESS!!  Susan got her hair cut this week, and Saturday I did her hair & make-up so we had to get a few "Glama Grama" shots.
I think she looks FABULOUS!

VIDEO from April/May 2008

I am FINALLY posting some video from the past few months... well, actually, this is from April & May so it's a little old. e.g. Braden is talking a lot more and Gavin is crawling all over the place, but I'll update that soon.  If your in a rush, minute 2:30 is Braden singing and it's pretty funny... other than that these are just random little clips from around the house!  Enjoy.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!  Hope everyone had a great day!  We sure did.  Blake made good time getting home after church - we had a great Mexican dinner, called our Dad's, played around the house and enjoyed a beautiful walk.  A great end to a VERY busy week!  We took a few fun pictures.  That last one, Braden took... he is always begging to take a picture, so I gave in b/c I thought it would be funny to see... that of course lasted until Blake said, "you do realize that is a 2-year old holding a $1500 camera".  He did do a pretty good job though!!!  Anyway, I was just thinking back to when Blake and I first got married.  I made him a little poster title "100 things I love about you".  Then I numbered 1 - 100 and wrote all the things I love about him.  I won't give them all now... but since it's Fathers Day, what the heck, I'll give a few:
Blake is wonderful from the inside out!  He's smart and funny and a hard worker.  He's back at the gym and hotter than ever!!  He's an AMAZING help around the house - we're talking kitchen, laundry, dirty diapers, scrubbing the shower out amazing... and that was just this week.  He serves endlessly, is loyal and loving and most importantly a GREAT DAD.  Just to illustrate: Braden LOVES to sleep in his LBJ's (workout shorts that are about a 5T).  One night he was out of clean ones so Blake let him wear a pair of his (which excited Braden beyond measure).  They were HUGE... it was HILARIOUS.  Anyway, the next morning after Blake left, Braden ran out of the house after him.  I was still upstairs feeding/changing Gavy and didn't realize it.  Next thing I know, my neighbor is knocking on my door bringing Braden back in.  Can you imagine my embarrassment?  1 - What kind of Mom am I that "let's" my kid run out of the house and 2 - in Blake's HUGE crazy big workout shorts, no shirt, no shoes.  I was dying... I explained he ran after his dad, and that he also happened to be wearing his Dad's shorts.  She smiled, laughed and said, "WOW, I can tell those two have a strong connection".  We don't know these particular neighbors that well yet but she got it right.  They have such a bond... and that's just the kind of Dad he is!  Love you BABE.

Today's Shoot

Anyone that knows Braden, knows that getting him to actually "pose" when you want does NOT happen.  This is why this picture is so cute!!!  I was shooting a newborn today and while the baby's mom was changing him, Braden (who was being the most helpful assistant) jumped in and said, "take my picture".  I said, "give me your best pose" and this is what I got!!  He gave me 5 other good ones, but I'll just post this one!  Plus a few other cool ones from the shoot.

So big!

One more quick post - these pics are funny.  Braden's favorite saying right now is,  "wanna watch what I can do?"  Tonight he was carrying Gavin all over repeating that.  I found him in our closet this time around... what a great, strong brother!

June is in full swing... no pun intended!

This has been such a fun week - I just had to check in!  There have been several moments during this week especially, where I have thought I wish I could freeze time!  Not just because there aren't enough hours in the day as it is and I find myself working until all hours of the morning on a regular basis, but because this is such an amazing stage that the boys are in!  I have really been working on being present and enjoying each moment (vs. stressing over the melt downs - which area actually getting better) and it has made life in general a lot more enjoyable!  We have been trying to get out and do fun things each day (though it's mostly the gym and the pool), but what has been the most memorable are little moments here and there - and that's what I want to freeze.  So - I can't stop time, but the camera sure helps!!  These are from the park this week.  It was literally 100 degrees on Thurs.  Gotta love the pink cheeks! ps - don't forget to check out the patch of missing hair that Braden "trimped" (trimmed) off his own head.
