Sunday FUNDAY...

I am officially confessing that Sundays are probably one of the hardest days of the week for me.  Okay... there, I said it!!

#1 church is at 2:30.... YES 2:30 in the afternoon!!  #2 For the past 4 1/2 years I have been doing Sundays by myself.  Blake is gone early for meetings and gets home late (some Sundays after 8pm).  I have had to sit by myself w/ the kiddies for a LONG time now... and these ages are rough, which is fine... but sitting still for one hour (with 1, 2 or 3 parents) is a joke!  #3 Church happens to coincide with nap time so you can only imagine how #2 plays out each week w/ NO nap.  Sometimes we just go sit in the car.  In the end, we make the best of it.  We love the Branch and wouldn't have things any other way

This past Sunday I had to give a talk (in Spanish of course) as well as my usual Sunday school class.  I really needed to review/practice/study and we had about 45 mins. until we needed to leave.  I pulled out my secret weapon (the movie robots) and let the boys watch it on my bed... a very special privilege.  When I came in the room, ready to pack everyone up to head to church this is what I found (I thought they were being awfully quiet)!!!  Can I tell you how bad I wanted to crawl in bed with them... sigh!!!

We did make it to church and I know this time in our life won't last forever.  This is why despite the craziness, I want to remember the details and smile back on our Sunday Fundays.

I hear you girl. Andy's in the bishopric, which leaves me with 3 kids for most of the day on Sunday...plus I'm the organist, so I'm up and down off the stand, which is usually harder on Charlie to have me get up and leave after I've sat down. It's tough. But yes, it does pass, hopefully. I still think you win, as at least our church is at 9. 2:30 is almost dinner and bath time!

I LOVE reading your blog. We are so missing out on seeing your boys grow up, but at least we can see pix and read your blog. You are one amazing woman........I don't know how you do it all! Miss all of you.

Stephen is our new bishop here. He said he saw Blake when Elder Bednar was in Durham. I got released from stake primary and have no calling except VT. We're starting to move in to new house this week and then off to Utah next week. But I don't have little kiddies to worry about...only big ones! HAha! Love you!

Oh Lindsay, I am so sorry! Aaron was in the bishopric for a couple years when my kids were 5,3,2 and newborn. So I can totally relate. Hang in there and take it 1 Sunday at a time, that's the only way I got through it.

Oh, and I cannot imagine that time for church, that would be REALLY tough! You are amazing and you will be blessed for your service and sacrifice. Love you. (;
